Beat Your Cycle: How We Turned Movement, Knowledge & Community Into Menstrual Justice

Beat Your Cycle: How We Turned Movement, Knowledge & Community Into Menstrual Justice

On September 20th, 2025, something special happened in Copenhagen.

She for She Pads and Beatriders joined forces to host Beat Your Cycle — an event designed to empower women through movement, education, community… and cycle-love. It wasn’t just a fitness class. It wasn’t just a talk. It was a fundraiser with purpose.

And together, we raised the money that helped us donate reusable menstrual pads to girls in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya — keeping them in school, even when they bleed.

Why Beat Your Cycle?

Because your menstrual cycle is not a weakness.
It’s a roadmap.
A power source.
A tool.

And because no girl — whether in Denmark or in a refugee camp — should ever be held back by her period.

Beat Your Cycle was created to bring women together to:

✓ understand their cycle
✓ move with their body instead of against it
✓ learn how to train and eat in harmony with their hormones
✓ support girls who can’t access basic menstrual products

It became a day of sweat, knowledge, solidarity — and a whole lot of empowerment.

What the event included

The lineup was incredible, and every woman in the room felt it.

High-energy spin class with Rosanna (Beatriders)

With 14 years of dance experience and playlists full of pop, house, and guilty pleasures, Rosanna lit up the room with energy.
No one left that bike without a smile — or sweat on their forehead.

Cycle-based yoga with Ann Sofie Deleuran

A pelvic health specialist and yoga therapist with more than 15 years of experience, Ann Sofie guided us through a grounding, cycle-aware practice.
She reminded us that softness is strength — and rest is part of performance.

Talk by Camilla (Performance Coach & Certified Nutrition Coach)

With a background in competitive sports — from soccer to CrossFit and Olympic lifting to distance running — Camilla taught us how to fuel, train, and recover based on our hormonal phases.
Her message was clear:
Women are not small men. Our training and nutrition should reflect that.

A goodie bag filled with love (and value!)

Every participant received a goodie bag valued at 1,600 DKK, generously donated by:

  • Mewali

  • Yeti Cooler

  • Simply Chocolate

  • Female Invest

  • ID Hair

Their support didn’t just add joy to the event — it helped us sell out and raise more money for Kakuma.

Where the money went

Every single krone of profit was donated to:

Reusable menstrual pads for girls in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya

This event supported our donation mission, helping us provide pads that:

  • keep girls in school,

  • protect their dignity,

  • support their health,

  • and reduce period poverty in one of the world’s toughest environments.

Your ticket didn’t just give you a great workout.
It kept a girl in school for years.

A community-powered movement

The energy in the room that day was unforgettable:

Women cheering for each other.
Sharing stories.
Learning about their bodies.
Sweating with purpose.
And standing together for girls who have far fewer resources — but just as many dreams.

This is what happens when community meets action.

Thank you

To Beatriders.
To our instructors.
To our speakers.
To every woman who bought a ticket.
To every brand that donated.
To everyone who showed up with heart.

Because of you, girls in Kakuma can stay in school — even when they bleed.

This is what solidarity looks like.
This is what cycle-love looks like.
And this is only the beginning.
