Finally, I’m in Uganda!
It’s so crazy the fact that She for She will soon become reality!
Today, I met with these young girls to be hired in She for She.
As you can see, we don’t smile so much on our picture. We don’t, because these girls shared their stories with me on why it’s right here it makes sense to do our work.
Many of these girls have lost their parents and often been left to take care of themselves. Some of them are young mothers. Some of them are HIV positive. The “Girl Child Advocacy Initiative” organization welcomes young girls who can’t take care of themselves and can’t afford to go to school. And while the young girls learn skills such as sewing and making hair, they also have the opportunity to earn their own money, feed themselves and have enough financially to go to school again. I’m so excited to start working with these strong young women.
Thank you for supporting the project. We couldn’t have made it without you. Without you, She for She might not have become a reality. Thank you for helping to make a difference for young women and better their opportunities. For a better future.
