The 8th of march, our CEO and founder Mary Consolata Namagambe gave a talk at the event Mino talks, on their special event celebrating international womens day!
Mino talks is a reaccuring event held by Mino Danmark, an organization that works to support minorities in Denmark to be a part of society as well as combat racism, discrimination and alienation from society.
Mary spoke in front of an audience that has supported She for She from the beginning, and said about her experience at the event:
“I am overwhelmed at the support She for She is getting from you. When I stepped off the stage I was in tears – to think that 2 years ago I got the idea to start She for She, and today I am standing here talking about why something as natural as menstruation shouldn’t keep girls away from school!”
The event took place at Copenhagen public library at Krystalgade 14, in Copenhagen.
Mary was joined by other speakers representing minorities in Denmark, and the two main debate topics were “women in parenting” (With moderator Natasha Al-Hariri and a panel including: Irina Olsen, Ekaterina Krarup Andersen, Yanaba Mompremier Rymark Sankoh & Laila Vetterlain.) and “Women in Business” (With moderator Inaam Nabil and panel including: Asrin Mesbah, Sara Jin Smidt, Christina Krzyrosiak Hansen & Souad F. Taha).
The event also had speakers and other entertainers, including Sara Omar, Melissa Inya, Up Coming Company, Sara Rahmeh, Ellie Jokar, Jasmin Gabay – and of course Mary!
We would like to thank you for all the support we are getting for She for She, both at the event and in general!
Thank you!
